Evaluation Electronics production and Electronics design
General notice: the quality of the photographs could be better.
Electronics production:
- We are milling with Roland, not drilling.
- so we use milling bits
- are the pictures in correct order in mods explanation?
- 1mm end mill? YES
- special cleaning tool -> vacuum cleaner
- one three legged-component (transistor) -> 3.3V voltage regulator
- one capacitor
Update this to week 9: Making the UPDI programmer is a two-step process: https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/pub/programmers/programmer-updi-d11c You need an SWD programmer.
- burn bootloader edbg -ebpv -t samd11 -f sam_ba_SAMD11C14A.bin
or in Arduino Arduino: select SAMD11C14A as the board in the Fab SAM core, then click on Burn Bootloader. The SWD programmer should be automatically detected.
- Program the USB-to-serial firmware https://github.com/qbolsee/SAMD11C_serial
Group work: We are milling with Roland, not drilling.
Electronics Design: Explain shortly the installation of KiCad libraries for fab lab components: https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/pub/libraries/electronics/kicad
Explain with screenshots the key functions used to draw the schematic and the layout.
Explain that because the board was milled with LPKF you needed gerber files. Also show how you generated them with KiCad.
The CircuitPro process starts with load default template, if you start from the scratch.
The copper layer was successfully imported: ![](../images/week07/eldes008.jpg
You could show with a screenshot/photoraph which functions are needed in the CircuitPro user interface.
Note that the Circuit Pro does not scan for available machines. The machine typt is currently selected from a long list of supported machines. It is likely that there is a way around this. YES. Start the machine first then CircuitPro.
Groupwork missing.
