Evaluation of Your Assignment for Computer_Controlled Cutting Week
"also used the Laser cutter to do parametric design" --> You use laser cutter to cut the object that you designed parametrically. Please read the checklist for documentation if you have not yet. It will be useful for documenting your next weeks as well.
Vinyl Cutting:
"I used the Vinyl cutter to cute a shape" --> Typo: cut"First, I downloaded the picture from Google." --> Picture doesn't open via the provided link.-
"Afterwards I imported the picture in Inkscape and converted Raster form into a form understandable by Inkscape as shown below."Raster form? Probably you mean bitmap to vector? Explain how you did the trace-bitmap and etc. Only pictures is not enough! As explained in the checklist, you need to explain by naming the tools that you used and the images are for supporting your in-text explanation.
"The process of vinyl cutting starts by turning the vinyl cutter on and the inserting a roll depending on color of preference." --> Did you use a roll of material and 'roll' option? Then why your image shows 'edge'? Please fix this issue. Your pictures should match what you have used and done.Explain how you adjusted roller pinches? (hint: grit mark area was important for this adjustment)After loading the vinyl and setting origin, you should explain how you send the print order to the vinyl cutter. E.g., what did you get from the machine and etc.Mention the name and model of the vinyl cutter that you used for this cut."and then make use of a transfer sheet to to remove the design and stick it to the required object." --> Typo: double to
Images:
Add caption for your images.
Parametric Design:
"In parametric design always takes into accountt the kerf and how to compensate for it." --> Typo: account"and the use of paramters to make sure the design goes smooothly." --> Typo: parameters, smoothly"I first drew a square base" --> Which tool did you use? Name it and write how you accessed the tool? Do the same for the rest of your design steps. Provide more details on how you designed the box.-
"The kerf is the amount of material that gets added(for outside) or removed(for inside) from the material because of the laser bemas size," --> Rephrase this sentence. It is wrong now saying in this way.Write something like this instead of your current sentence: The laser kerf is the amount that the laser burns away when it cuts through the material. Kerf depends on several factors including the laser beam. For the width of the slots (inside), we deduct the laser kerf from the material thickness. For the width of the tabs (outside), we add the laser kerf to the material thickness.
"because of the laser bemas size" --> Typo: beam"Throughout my design I took into account the kerf and used it to design for example I have added the kerf for the outer slots and subtracted the kerf for the inner slots(as shown in the image of paramters)." --> Write down your parameters also in the text. (pictures are only for supporting your text.)"The line width should be 0.02 for a good output" --> 0.02 mm
Group Work:
"In the group work I learned different characteristics of the laser cutter(power, frequency and speed) and their impact on the final output." --> Briefly and in your own words summarize their impact on the final output.I will evaluate your group work documentation separately."and high slow speed makes deep cuts because the laser spends more time cutting." --> high slow?
