Please clarify the following for your group work:
Good that you did a research to understand what kerf is and you have provided the link. But you also need to write down what kerf is.we selected MDF Matrial and the Acrylic sheet. You mean: MDF 3 mm and Acrylic 3 mm ?You have included two pictures of Epilog Fusion printing properties. You need to write down those settings. You always need to support the pictures with explanation in your documentation. The provided images for measuring kerf are very good but you also need to explain them in your text as well as reflect on the results.Your documentation misses different values that you considered for Speed, power and frequency and the explanation of their effect on cutting and engraving. You can check your group mates' documentations (E.g. Jobin's) if you do not remember the values.
Please clarify the following for press-fit kit:
Provide the definition and your understanding of parametric design. How did you consider kerf value in your parametric design? How do you consider your design parametric? To my understanding, it is not parametric design because it can not be recalculated by tweaking the original parameters.Currently there are some uncertainties about utilizing Inkscape for parametric design. But even If it is apparent that the weekly task of parametric design can be done with Inkscape, you need to check the followings:Some FabAcademy tips:http://academy.cba.mit.edu/classes/computer_design/inkscape.mp4http://fabacademy.org/2018/docs/FabAcademy-Tutorials/week3_computer_controlled_cutting/press_fit.htmlhttp://fabacademy.org/2018/docs/FabAcademy-Tutorials/week3_computer_controlled_cutting/press_fit_inkscape.htmlAnd using XML Editor tool in Inkscape. You can also utilize a CAD software such as Fusion 360.
Please clarify the following for Vinylcutting:
What is the line width of your design?Explain your reason of using trace bitmap tool.the rollers should be placed correctly.Explain how the rollers are placed correctly.-
The required coloured sheet shall be insertedExplain the procedure of loading material.
The following is wrong:"Therefore, the Roll option shall be selected to get the dimensions. After getting the dimensions we select piece and press Enter."You had nothing to do with Roll option. Image shows that you had a piece of material and you selected Piece to measures the length and the width of your material. (Modify the picture as well).Explain what happens when you choose 'piece' and you press 'ENTER'?Explain printing procedure in Inkscape and specify which values you get from the vinylcutter and then which value(s) you keep from the machine and which value(s) you change and why? What value for pen force did you use?How did you weed the cut vinyl? Did you use any tool? Specify it.Your file for vinylcutting failed to be downloaded. Please re-check.
Reflection:
When you fix everything and complete your tasks, consider a section at the end of your documentation and provide a reflection on your experiences (mistakes, frustrations, failures, successes and leanings).
