Applications and implications Feedback
I like a lot your final project. I really think is going to be very useful for kids to understand different processes. However, as you know, designing for kids is problematic. You need to make things simple, highly interactive and with attractive feedback.
Concerning with your description:
-
It is not clear what your project will do. You say that user can interact with the thermistor, photoresistor, LCD screen and buttons. How, an user can interact with these sensors? How can actually interact with the LCD? What is the effect of the interaction (turn a lamp on???). You should be a little bit more specific in the description.
-
In the who's done what beforehand, it is necessary that you search for related work. Projects that resembles you and even parts that you can reuse.
-
In the materials and components you need to be more specific: which plastic are you using (PLA, ABS...). You need to be also more precise in the components you are using. For instance, I would summarize the main components of each one of your boards separately. You should include also which microcontrollers are you using. Which components are you using for the Rainbow lamp, any glass, or prysm?
-
The Where will come from? You need to specify which components are coming from Fab Lab, which you need to buy yourself (or order somewhere).
-
How much will they cost? Difficult to evaluate how much would it cost if you do not have list of components. How much would cost the silicone? How much would cost your sweat and blood
🚱 -
Parts and systems. Looks correct. But you include here some circuits not mentioned in the what you will design. You discuss in this section about the lamp circuits not mentioned before. A small figure will help to clarify and understand better your project (this is not a must, though).
-
How will it be evaluated? kids are good evaluators. But how would you evaluate the success of your project? What functionality should definitively work? How much power should have your LEDs?
Other issues:
- In the first paragraph there are some strange characters: 'â€'. Please, check.
- Be sure that you include 2D design in your project. I cannot see anything on 2D design and manufacturing in your project (e.g. laser cutter, vinyl cutter...)
