I had picked the wrong capacitor value in my final test in Kerala; I just updated that and tested it without trouble:
http://academy.cba.mit.edu/classes/embedded_programming/D11C/hello.D11C.blink.reset.png
This has an RC filter to slow the reset turn-on, and leaves off the clock pull-up that's usually not needed. I just tested and this works for me, can people who had SAMD11 issues try reproducing it?
It's using my 10->4 pin JTAG SWD header adapter, to save space and simplify routing:

What worked best for me was a combination of the techniques Jani tried: tin the traces, use hot air reflow to tack the chip down, then use drag soldering to finish.
See how hard that is to reproduce in your labs.
I am also going to test a heated solder sucker.https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/academany/fabacademy/2020/labs/digiscope/students/ambroise-devries/-/issues/1blobloblo2020-01-29T17:08:48Zromaindivozzoblobloblobloblobloblobloblohttps://gitlab.fabcloud.org/academany/fabacademy/2020/site/-/issues/1Agreements2020-01-30T04:38:47ZNeil GershenfeldAgreementsIn class today I neglected to mention the agreements we've found to be helpful to summarize the relative responsibilities for students:

- Demonstrate and describe processes used in modelling with 2D and 3D software
## Have you?
- [x] Modelled experimental objects/part of a possible project in 2D and 3D software
- [x] Shown how you did it with words/images/screenshots
- [ ] Included your original design [files](http://fabacademy.org/2020/docs/fabacademy-assessment/general_essentials.html)
## FAQ
### Is it compulsory to do parametric design this week?
> Answer: No, but it is in [computer controlled cutting](http://fabacademy.org/2020/docs/fabacademy-assessment/computer-controlled_cutting.html). So it is a good idea to start learning now.https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/academany/fabacademy/2020/labs/bhubaneswar/site/-/issues/1Access request for the instructor2020-02-07T19:21:10ZsibuAccess request for the instructorI, @sibusaman is the remote instructor for Bhubaneswar, please give me access to the Bhubaneswar project.I, @sibusaman is the remote instructor for Bhubaneswar, please give me access to the Bhubaneswar project.https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/academany/fabacademy/2020/class/-/issues/9Is your website not building because of mkdocs - python issues?2020-02-13T09:17:15Zviktorsmariviktorsmari@smartcitizen.meIs your website not building because of mkdocs - python issues?Every students repo was created with a template, which is this repo: https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/fibasile/fabacademy-student-template

We discovered an issue in the `.gitlab-ci.yml` file where it was fetching the latest python image.
`image: python:alpine`
The newest Python image (which is now Python 3.8) does not build `mkdocs` and `mkdocs-material` correctly together.
* **It fails** like this: https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/academany/fabacademy/2020/labs/lccc/students/hallie-krudy/-/jobs/267031
**If you have this issue** you need to remove `mkdocs` from the `requirements.txt` so it now looks like this:

# Assignment: Laser Cutting
**Group Assignment**
- Characterise your laser cutter focus, power, speed, rate, kerf, and joint clearance
**Individual assignment**
- Design, laser cut, and document a **parametric press-fit construction kit**, which can be assembled in multiple ways. Account for the laser cutter kerf.
- For **extra credit** include elements that aren't flat.
## Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate and describe parametric 2D modelling processes
- Identify and explain processes involved in using the laser cutter
- Develop, evaluate and construct the final prototype
## Have you?
- [ ] Explained how you parametrically designed your files
- [ ] Shown how you made your press-fit kit
- [ ] Included your design files and photos of your finished project
# Vinyl Cutting
There is no specific project that is focussed on this very useful tool. There are a range of ways you might utilise it throughout the programme, or your local instructor may set a specific project. You might make:
- stickers
- flexible circuit boards
- a textured surface/relief pattern
- screenprint resists/stencils
Ensure that you have used it in some way during this time and met the objectives below.
## Learning Outcomes
- Identify and explain processes involved in using this machine.
- Design and create the final object
## Have you?
- [x] Explained how you drew your files
- [x] Shown how you made your vinyl project
- [x] Included your design files and photos of your finished project
## FAQ
### What does characterise mean?
> Answer: Describe/understand the nature and features (of your particular laser cutter)
### Can I use the Inkscape clone tool for my press-fit kit?
> Answer: No. The clone tool is not a real parametric software.
### Is it compulsory to design my own file in Vinyl cutting?
> Answer: Yes. Or modify existing one, and acknowledge where you found it.
