LASER CUTTING & GROUP WORK

Figure 1. Printed different modes of (a) Focus, (b) Speed, dpi and Power and(c) measuring the printed components slots to calculate the kerf.Your caption tells about kerf measurement although there is no picture regarding it. Please either add a picture (picture c is missing) or modify your caption.
-
We printed the MDF material with all of different settings and then, measure the slots to figure out of the difference (Figure 3c) and discuss with our groupmate to calculate kerf. After this sentence, write a few sentences about the result of the kerf measurement. For example, what happened to the hole, slots or tabs after cutting? And what is your conclusion for accounting for kerf in your design based on your experiment?-
Also you need to explain about your results with focus, raster and vector tests. What was your results and conclusions for each test? What did you learn from it?This explanation is still missing. How different settings for raster and vector affected your result?
Your documentation lacks picture(s) for vector test that you did in the group work.
VINYL CUTTING
-
For vinyl cutting, I chose an image of legendary Iranian classic singer, Mohammad Reza ShajarianNice choice! May he rests in peace💙 Such a pity that you couldn't get it through! But your granny's pic looks just lovely; I am pretty sure she is gonna love it from up there :)
-
Therefore, I opened the vectorized image of my granny in Inkspace which I made it at the second week with GIMP-
Provide the link to the second week here. The link is blank

After preparing the design in Inkspace, I started to work with the vinyl cutter which is Roland CAMM-1 GS-24.This page for Roland is not global. Either remove the link or link it to the Roland CAMM-1 GS-24 page itself.
-
Unexpectedly, this part was a bit tricky because of very small traced areas of the image (wrinkles).-
after this step, you should have transferred the cut vinyl to a transfer sheet and then sticking the sticker somewhere. Then taking a pic of the final product is necessary. Figure 7 could not be considered as the hero image as it is not showing the final product. Please stick your granny's sticker to something that you like and take a picture and upload it. Keep figure 7 anyways as it shows a part of the process. Not fixed yet.

Figure 6. Roland CAMM-1 GS-24 vinyl cutter-
Figure 6 shows the use of black vinyl although your actual work has been done on a green vinyl. Just write a sentence to clarify it.Not fixed yet.

PARAMETRIC DESIGN
-
You need to explain the design steps that you took for drawing the hexagons as well as the joint. Don't forget to specifically elaborate on the kerf parameter and the other parameters that use kerf value in their formulas. -
after discussing the sizes with Behnaz, I defined the parameters as the followingyou need to explain the parameters in figure 10, also in the text format. Write down the names of the parameters, their values and their roles in your design.

We printed the MDF material with all of different settings and then, measure the slots to figure out of the difference (Figure 3c) and discuss together to calculate kerf.I believe, here, you mean (Figure 5c); right?

To have a good understanding of the machine features, our instructor (Behnaz) had prepared some simple design with different settings including Focus modes (Figure 1a) and Speed, dpi and Power modes (Figure 1b).I believe, here, you mean Figure 2a and Figure 2b; right?
-
Then, for making the slots, I drew rectangles (Sketch->2-Point Rectangle) and tried to put them at the same line of each side manually (Figure 8).Figure 10. :D
-
That was not a good idea since for 3D design and after extruding, I noticed some extra lines (circled area in Figure 8).Figure 11

Then, I saved and opened it in pdf and then, pressed Alt+p for printing order.ctrl+p
