Evaluation for Your Computer_Controlled_Cutting Week Assignment
GROUP WORK ASSIGNMENT
-
I will evaluate the group work assignment separately. -
Write a few sentences about your group work experience, what you learned and how it was helpful for doing your individual assignment.
VINYL CUTTING
Very good and clear explanation of preparing the design for vinyl cutting. The explanation of the steps of preparing the vinyl cutter is missing (loading material, pinch rollers, grit marks, which option in the menu among edge, roll, and piece did you select and etc.). Please explain everything. The explanation of sending the print order from Inkscape to the vinyl cutter is missing. How was weeding the vinyl? Easy or difficult? Which tools did you use for it? Tweezers probably? Please name it.Were is the origin for vinyl cutting? Please mention it in your documentation. Since you have resized your document size to the object size, you did not have to worry about moving the whole design to the origin point but it is still good to mention it in your documentation.Name the technologies that you used. E.g., the software, the model of the vinyl cutter and etc. Do the same for the other sections of your document.
PARAMETRIC DESIGN
This construction kit should be able to assembled multiple ways. > Typo: to be assembled in multiple ways. However, I did succeed to design artefact by using parametric aproach, > Typo: approachI got idea! Let's spesify sides of the square by parameters! > Typo: specifyYou need to provide more details such as the tools that you have used for each step of your design. E.g., for defining the parameters: Modify > Change Parameters > user parameters > clicking on the + icon > and etc. Do the same for the rest of tools that you used for this design such as square, circle, trim, constraints and etc.It wwas related to my special variable to spesify width of the side and calculus which took account the kerf-size, > Typo: was, specify.I wanted to make my design more appealing and beatiful. > Typo: beautifulbefore I did realise that I did got lost, I was able to design quite beatiful object. > Typo: realize, beautiful.Parameters explained (image below) > Add kerf to the list of parameters as well. Please explain how you saved your 3D design as PDF?In the image you import the pdf file of your design to Inkscape to prepare for laser cutting. Explain in detail? Adjusting line width and etc.
Please check for other typos. Installing automatic grammar check for your editor might be a good idea!
LASER CUTTING
You need to laser cut the object that you have designed. Please document about the laser cutter that you will use to cut your object. You should specify how you cut your object using the laser cutter (origin, focus, task, parameters for vector cut and etc.).Add the hero image of the final product (the press-fit kit).-
The following files do not work:SVG file (Scratch Cat, my vinyl cutting design)SVG file (text stickers, work in progress, test image in documentation
Include .f3d file and .stl file of your final parametric design. Delete .svg file of the parametric design. Keep .pdf file using which you laser cut the construction kit.
Since your documentation is not complete yet, further comments might come in the future. Please inform me when your documentation is ready for the second round of evaluation.
