Later on discussing the issue with my instructor i came to know that problem was not of the code or the board it was the problem of the pin description in the wire library.
<br>
Beacause the library is devloped for commercial arduino boards the <b>SDA</b> and <b>SCK</b> pins are defined accordingly.

To make the code work simply what was required is that go to the header files wherever the wire.h library is saved,
open it via text any text editor and change the pin description there, the SDA and SCk to the pins that you are using in your board say A0 and A1 in my case and tadaa it will smoothly work as it should be, however in both cases the code and the board worked.
