Agriculture

I’m interested in Agriculture. I’d like to know other students or FabLab working on a final project related to Agriculture. I’m working at AgriLab, in France in Beauvais. AgriLab is a FabLab focus on Agriculture. http://agrilab.unilasalle.fr/

Agriculture is a huge field : IOT sensors , Agriculture robots, autonomous RTK (high resolution GPS) guided tractor … But in the scope of this fabacademy as a student, I choose a project that can be made by one person with a full-time job and only a few weeks remaining. Concerning pest control project , there is a startup that created an IOT object that count the number of insects glue to certain sheets of colour recognized with a camera. It can count the number of insects, detect their size, and for some do a deep learning and recognize the exact sort of insect. Some insects are attracted by certain colours. By multiplying this system with sheets of colour, you can detect a bigger diversity of insects. When you see an increasing number of insect glue in a certain area, you can guess that it will happen to the nearby areas. I will try to find back the name of this product.

They are also IOT sensor for slugs, based on the same principle a camera count the number of slugs running under a camera during the night.

As Agricutlure related to fablab seems a growing subject. Is it possible to create a moment on that subject during Fab15 ?
