Problem with a packfile on repository
Hi guys. I have an issue with my repository.
Even though I have compressed all the files (assets folder is less than 95 mb):Screen_Shot_2018-06-07_at_01.03.32
And added the _site - directory in my .gitignore - file because it is a compiled duplicate of all content for local hosting, my repository is still immense (445 mb).
I found out this happens due to a file I have in my .git folder, that is automatically generated by Git - which is sort of a history of all pushes stored as a git object in the form of a [packfile] (https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-Internals-Packfiles):
This problem usually occurs when one uses lots of binary files (images).
I've run gc and tried git filter-branch but the repository is still the same and file is still there.
I couldn't make this solution work too (I get an error: fatal: Unable to look up https (port 9418) (nodename nor servname provided, or not known).
I can't push anything to the repository anymore due to this.
Any help / ideas ?
Thanks,
Andre
