If you Lab has fulfilled all the [Basic Lab Expectations to Become a Fab Academy Node](new_and_aspiring_labs_basic_requirement.md) and passed the [Applications and Assessment Process](new_and_aspiring_labs_basic_requirement.md#4-application-process), your Lab are ready to start!
* The "[Basic Requirements](new_and_aspiring_labs_basic_requirement.md)" have already been met
### Prep Meetings
* There is a [Local Instructor present](local_instructor_and_remote_guru_responsibilities_.md) in the Lab
Local instructors and mentors will attend prep meetings each Wednesday at 08:30 EST. It is the opportunity to plan the weeks, to raise any significant issues and share experiences, advices and news.
* If the Local Instructor is new (first year as an instructor), they are officially assigned to and being mentored by a Remote Guru.
### Global Lecture & Recitations
* Local instructors will attend prep meetings each week at 08:30 EST
Global lectures happen on Wednesdays at 9:00 AM EST, and last for approximately 3 hours. During the classes, professor Neil Gershenfeld both presents and explains the content and also reviews the work of the students.
In addition to the classes, there are weekly Recitations held on Mondays 9:00 AM EST. These are content driven lectures related to the weekly assignments.
* [Local Working Groups](local_instructor_and_remote_guru_responsibilities_.md) (comprised of students and instructors) will attend lecture together from the local lab every Wednesday at 09:00 EDT and recitations on Mondays 09:00 EDT.
[Local Working Groups](new_and_aspiring_labs_basic_requirement.md#3-students-workgroup) (comprised of students and instructors) will attend lecture together via vide conferencing system.
### Class Participation: Internet Access
